Vintages

Saint-Emilion vintages year by year…

The vintage (the year a wine was harvested) allows connoisseurs of Saint-Emilion’s fine wines to track the ageing of their bottles. A key criterion in assessing the quality of a wine, the vintage lets us know the ideal moment to open a bottle. Renowned vintages will be kept for many years, whereas bottles from years when the climate conditions were less than ideal will be consumed more quickly. In order to produce a great vintage, the weather conditions must be perfect: heat, sufficient but not excessive rainfall and then dry conditions for the harvest.
