Set within the heart of wine-producing estates, Saint-Emilion is among one of the most visited places in France. Here in Saint-Emilion, history evolves in its tiny streets, alongside architectural treasures hidden within the medieval city; the monolithic church, the Cloître des Cordeliers, various châteaux, the bell tower, the King’s tower, moats etc. Around each new corner, discover a vibrant town abuzz with seasonal entertainment, boutiques and craft shops, art galleries, chic restaurants and gourmet delicatessens with delicious macaroons. Not to mention the well-stocked cellars of the town’s many winemakers…

A sea of vines

In addition to this rich architectural heritage, Saint-Emilion’s unique and diverse landscape provides a marvellous natural backdrop to all the medieval splendour... The town itself is like an island in a sea of vineyards, dotted here and there with houses, châteaux and groves. This legendary wine-producing area is a patchwork of plateaux, sloping hills and plains scattered with vines, woods, streams and rivers... The vineyards also conceal yet more architectural wonders: Romanesque churches and medieval châteaux, windmills, dovecotes, menhirs and mysterious caves... In the surrounding region, country lanes meander through picturesque villages and onwards to remarkable estates, where expert winemakers work all year round to craft the wines which represent the true soul of Saint Emilion...

Two thousand years of history unite the men and women of Saint-Emilion and their precious vines!
