VINE & WINE - The harvest
Over several months, we monitor the growth and development of the grapes. Once the right degree of ripeness has been obtained, the winegrowers can begin harvesting the grapes.
In Saint-Émilion, the grapes are mainly picked by hand. Meticulous work then begins in the vineyard in order to produce outstanding wines. Once they have been picked, the grapes are sorted, firstly by hand (a process also known as visual sorting), and then with the aid of very accurate machines that can detect when the grapes have reached optimum ripeness. The harvests reflect a year of hard work in the vineyard.
